Classic hill station experience

Shimla: As the state capital and former summer capital of British India, Shimla retains a nostalgic atmosphere with colonial architecture and a bustling pedestrian-only Mall Road. Visit the Jakhu Temple for panoramic city views and the Indian Institute of Advanced Study to see the Viceregal Lodge. For a scenic journey, consider taking the UNESCO World Heritage Kalka-Shimla toy train.

Manali: A popular resort town at the northern end of the Kullu Valley,Manali offers scenic beauty with lush forests, flowing rivers, and access to mountain passes. Key sites include the Hidimba Devi Temple and the Vashisht Temple. 

Kufri: This small hill town near Shimla is known for winter snow activities and the Himalayan Nature Park

  • Bir Billing: This town in the Kangra district is globally recognized as a hotspot for paragliding.

  • Spiti Valley: For a more rugged adventure, explore this "cold desert" region.Spiti Valley features high-altitude landscapes,monasteries like Key Monastery, and the stunning Chandratal Lake.

  • Trekking: Himachal offers numerous trekking routes, including the popular Hampta Pass Trek and the Triund Trek.

  • Getting Around: Inter-state buses and taxi services are readily available. For a truly unique experience, consider the toy train ride between Kalka and Shimla.

  • Packing: Pack layers, as mountain weather can be unpredictable. Heavy woollens are essential for a winter visit, while light cottons and waterproof jackets are suitable for summer and monsoon trips.
